Logan: Film Review

lgan

I wasn’t that fussed about Logan in the beginning because I didn’t love his first instalment and I didn’t even bother watching The Wolverine but I’m glad I checked it out because it is brilliant and one of the strongest films in the X-Men franchise.

X-Men: Apocalypse – Film Review

x1

The initial reaction to X-Men: Apocalypse was very mixed so I went in with low expectations and this probably helped because I actually liked it. Sure, it’s not as good as Days of Future Past and it’s pretty bleak, but it is still a decent watch with some great performances so I definitely recommend checking it out if you’re into this kind of thing.

Deadpool: Film Review

dead1

I had been excited for Deadpool for ages, I seriously enjoyed the trailers and kick-ass marketing campaign and I was truly looking forward to a hilarious anti-hero movie. But it was too much of what I expected it would be – too silly, too crude, too lame – and that made me like it less.

Just stop with the superhero TV shows already

X-Men1

This week it was announced that Fox are working on bringing the X-Men to TV in a new superhero series. Now, I love the X-Men and Marvel properties in general, but my heart sank at this news. X-Men: Days of Future Past Film Review

xmen2

Jennifer Lawrence dons the Mystique costume once again

jlaw

Check out the wonderful Jennifer Lawrence donning the Mystique blue paint for Days of Future Past, the next X-Men movie.

I wonder how long it takes to get her like that?! It must be a tough job!

Jen played the shapeshifting Mystique in X-Men: First Class back in 2011. Days of Future Past is the sequel to that AND X-Men: The Last Stand, so it will include characters from both the original trilogy and the prequel.

Director and producer Bryan Singer showed us this sneak peek on Twitter. It will be weird seeing Jen in this after her success in Silver Linings Playbook and The Hunger Games.

January Jones has baby boy

X-Men actress January Jones gave birth to a baby son named Xander Dane Jones on Tuesday.

The Mad Men star has still not revealed who the father is since announcing her pregnancy in April.

The show’s director, Matthew Weiner reckons she will be a great single mum: “She has wanted this very badly. She’s got a big heart and she’s been talking about children since I met her, which is not always common with actresses.

“I think she’s going to be an amazing mother,” he said. Let’s hope he’s right!
