I had been wanting to see BlacKkKlansman ever since it won rave reviews at the Cannes Film Festival, and even though I had months of building anticipation, it lived up the hype. Spike Lee’s latest movie is based on an incredible true story that manages to be both hard-hitting and funny.

Truth: Film Review


I love a journalism drama and two come along within the space of a couple of months – Spotlight and now Truth. Good news is that they are both brilliant, but I’m totally biased as a journalist myself. I have not been able to stop talking about Truth since I saw it and I have just ordered the book it’s based on – not many films can inspire me to do that.

American Ultra: Film Review

This stoner action comedy will not be for everyone. American Ultra didn’t do too well at the U.S. box office and has received incredibly mixed reviews, but lucky for me, this is right up my street and I totally loved it. It has comedy, it has action and it had Jesse Eisenberg and Kristen Stewart kicking ass. What more do you need?
