What The X Factor needs to change for the 2018 series

Rak-Su, the 2017 winners

I’m sure even the most diehard X Factor fans can admit that this series has been the worst of the lot. They tried to mix up the tried and tested format to draw in more viewers but instead it managed to drive people away, with just over five million watching the final, the lowest ever.

Can Rita Ora focus on her music career now please?

Today Rita Ora made her pop comeback with Your Song, her first track in two years, and I really like it. So I want to her to ditch all her other gigs and put full focus on her music career because I’m confident that she can become known as a legitimate popstar again, IF the rest of her album is as good as the lead single.

I’m happy with The X Factor 2016 line-up

x factor

A lot of people are hating on the new judging line-up of The X Factor because there is nobody new, supposedly proving that it can no longer pull in the big names. But why would you go for A-list, fresh faces and unknown quantities when you have a killer line-up of existing judges?!

The X Factor 2015 line-up: What the heck?!

The line-up for this year’s The X Factor has been announced and I am not a happy bunny. I was seriously hoping Nick Grimshaw would not end up being a judge but it has been confirmed – he is on board with Cheryl Fernandez-Versini and Rita Ora (above) and Simon Cowell is also returning.

Yaaay for Cheryl Cole being back on The X Factor

I am happy that Cheryl Cole is returning to The X Factor U.K. because I thought she was funny, witty and always gave Simon Cowell a run for his money. Her return not be successful if Simon wasn’t coming back too. Their chemistry and banter will definitely turn the fates around for this series in the beginning – people will be excited to see familiar faces back. But will it have a huge impact on the show’s ratings?! I doubt it will make a significant difference.

Sharon Osbourne returns to UK X Factor panel

It has been announced that Sharon Osbourne will return to The X Factor this year.

The former judge will join Louis Walsh, Gary Barlow and Nicole Scherzinger.

Tulisa yesterday confirmed that she would not be returning to the panel saying that she wanted to do something new and had some exciting announcements coming up. Rumour has it that she is trying to break into Hollywood.

Sharon was on the show from 2004 to 2007

Sharon was on the show from 2004 to 2007

I’m glad that Gary and Nicole are back because I love them and they make the show a lot of fun. Will they ever get rid of Louis? He is so annoying! I know there will be serious banter between him and Sharon though, as they got on so well before!

I know Sharon has done this before but could they not find anyone better?! I just find her so grouchy and not particularly funny. Tulisa did have her flaws (mainly in her fashion sense and solo performances) but she was from the music business and she was funny. I’m not sure how I like this change! I’ll to wait and see!

Video: Nicole Scherzinger reveals she did all the work with the Dolls

It is hardly surprising that Nicole did all the work when she was with The Pussycat Dolls but she has finally revealed how bad it was.

In a candid interview for VH1’s Behind the Music series Nicole said she was responsible for 95% of the work on their debut album, PCD.

She said, “I never really talked about it, but I’ll never forget I finished the album PCD and [producer] Ron [Fair] and I brought the girls into the studio and we played it for them, and it was the first time they’d ever heard the music.”

“Do you understand what I’m saying? We played the album for the Pussycat Dolls. It was the first time they’d ever heard the songs.”

I feel sorry for Nicole because she was talented enough to be a solo star and yet she created these songs for the group. Okay, she was the star of the group but she still had to share the stage and their earnings. It makes me even sadder because I know her first solo album ended up being shelved and the majority of her songs were then used on Doll Domination. I’m glad she has finally made it solo because she deserved it. I’m sure the other girls won’t be so happy about her frankness.

Nicole also admitted to suffering from bulimia during her time with the Dolls, saying she had it for years and used to do it everyday.

“I just hated myself,” she said, “I really was so disgusted with myself and so embarrassed. I felt so alone. I was in a group, and I never felt so alone in my life.”

The X Factor judge opened up even more, “It’s embarrassing. I never spoke about it. Like I said, I never want to play a victim, and I never wanted my family to hear about things from me because I think it would break their heart, you know.”

“I guess it was like my addiction, right? I never did drugs, but kinda doing things to myself was my addiction. It’s like when I got off stage, I was on this high, and I’d come back to my room and I’d be alone, so I would just do things. My bulimia was my addiction; hurting myself was my addiction.”

She has since cured her disorder after her family forced her to get help. She said leaving the Dolls and concentrating on her solo music helped a lot. Nicole was nervous about admitting this in the interview but revealing on Twitter earlier today how moving people’s reactions were.

She wrote, “Reading tweets about my #BehindTheMusic.. And I’m in tears. I was so afraid to come out with my story but realized I am not alone. Thanku for not judging me..I pray U2 may find the strength n courage to know the Truth..That u r worthy and perfect just the way God made u.”

It is thought they came to blows after disagreeing over a contestants’ performance. Their secretly filmed row included A TON of expletives with Nicki calling Mariah your “f***king highness” and Mariah calling her a “three year old”. I wonder if they can do the rest of the series! Live shows will be interesting!

Host Ryan Seacrest said, “It did go too far! To the point where the producers said ‘let’s call it a day.’ Those few contestants who didn’t get to see the judges, they’ll bring them back today.”

2. Shakira has announced that she is expecting a baby boy with boyfriend Gerard Piqué. She announced the news during an interview with German TV show.

FOX should make an official announcement later this week.

Tulisa reveals sexual assault

In her new book, Honest, Tulisa Contostavlos recalls a time when she was sexually assaulted by a “friend” after being drugged at sixteen.

In her autobiography, which is being serialised by The Sun, Tulisa reveals that she was out with friends and she saw them putting pills in people’s drinks. She told them she didn’t want to be involved. Yet, as the evening progressed, she grew unusually drunk despite having a few drinks.

Tulisa recalls what she remembers following her being escorted outside, ‘The next thing I remembered was waking up. Lying in the back of a cab and seeing the street lights whizzing past me through the windows. I felt completely out of it, and I blacked out again.”

The next time she woke up, she found her “friend” having non-consensual sex with her.

“I couldn’t even move, let alone get up or speak, and once again I just blacked out. When I finally woke up in the morning I found myself in a strange house.”

“I went into the bathroom and burst into tears. Then I pulled myself together, got dressed, and left without saying another word, crying all the way home.”

The X Factor judge never reported the incident to the police because she felt embarrassed and ashamed. She told friends but cites her age and her confusion over what her friend had done as reasons for not reporting the crime.

Tulisa’s book, Honest: My Story So Far, comes out Thursday.

Britney DID walk off the X Factor

Simon Cowell has revealed that Britney did actually try to permanently leave The X Factor US when she left the set after a panic attack.

On her first day on the job, Britney walked off during auditions in Austin, Texas- apparently after a contestant sang a really bad version of Hold It Against Me. She was absent for the following four contestants, meaning there was an empty seat next to Cowell.

Simon told TMZ that she “had a moment on the first day where she said to me “I’m not sure I can do this.”‘

He also admitted he lied to the press at the time to save face.

“No one is going to admit that on the first day your highest paid star after 20 minutes has walked off set.”

Britney also walked off set during auditions in Kansas due to a rude contestant and she refused to come out for the rest of the session. Let’s hope she doesn’t do that during the live shows because that will make her look bad and Simon will be furious!! I wonder if the audition footage of her walking off will be televised- if so, I’m watching!

The second series of the show- also starring LA Reid and Demi Lovato- will premiere tomorrow on FOX.
