Golden Globes nominations 2017: The comedy/musical section is obsolete

The Golden Globe nominations came out today and you can read the full list here. The reason the Golden Globes annoy me is because they divide all the acting categories between drama and musical/comedy and frankly, there hasn’t been enough awards-worthy roles in the latter so it’s been filled with some questionable entries. Surely it’s time to just combine all the movie acting categories?

The Lobster: Film Review

The Lobster is a brilliant, thought-provoking film, but it will not suit everybody because it is so flipping weird. I would urge readers to check out the synopsis before you go otherwise it is going to take a while to piece the puzzle together – it is still a head-stratcher, but having context certainly helps.

Cannes Film Festival Round-up: What to see?

The Cannes Film Festival is over for another year, so to say farewell, here is my rundown of films that I want to see immediately thanks to the buzz they received in France. Some have secured cinema distribution deals so us mortals who weren’t lucky enough to be in Cannes will be able to see them within the next year (which is still far too long away!)
