1917 won Best Drama and Best Director for Sam Mendes at the Golden Globes on Sunday and there’s a reason for that. I honestly didn’t think it was going to win over the likes of The Irishman but I was pleasantly surprised and I hope this love continues throughout awards season.
Top Films for January
Here we are! A new month AND a new year! As ever, that means it’s time for me to do my monthly movie preview – here’s a rundown of the cinema releases I’m excited for this January.
My Pics: Andrew Scott, Mark Strong and Sam Mendes at 1917 press conference
I went down to the Imperial War Museum today to attend the press conference for Sam Mendes’ new war movie 1917. Here are some of my pics and video from the event:
Spectre Premiere: Picture Gallery
Tonight I went to the premiere for the latest James Bond movie Spectre – which was probably the biggest and most extravagant premiere I have ever been to. Oh my God, the red carpet was so long I couldn’t see the start, it was held at the fancy Royal Albert Hall rather than the regular Leicester Square and I have never seen so much talent for one film!
Skyfall premiere: My Pics
The stars of the latest James Bond film, Skyfall, hit the red carpet for the world premiere at The Royal Festival Hall in London.
Lead actor Daniel Craig was friendly and tried to cover the whole crowd while Javier Bardem and Dame Judi Dench disappointed by only doing a select few so I didn’t see them up close. I didn’t even see Judi’s face!
Newcomer Berenice Marlohe, who plays Severine, made a real effort to see everyone (she also looked gorgeous) which is completely different to Naomie Harris who didn’t see many people and I didn’t like her dress very much at all. Other cast members such as Ben Whishaw, Ralph Fiennes and Sam Mendes came the effort too.
There were a lot of other celebrities there including old Miss Moneypenny, Samantha Bond, old Bond girls which I personally didn’t recognise, Christopher Lee, Colin Salmon, Stephen Fry, Russell Kane, Kelly Brook, Victoria Pendleton, Ellie Simmonds, JLS, Rizzle Kicks, Tulisa and The X Factor 2012 contestants. Besides Colin Salmon, the rest of the list didn’t sign for many people at all and headed straight inside which was disappointing.
I’ve realised since coming home that there are plenty of celebrities that I’ve missed and that is so gutting. Especially Dermot O’Leary and Aaron Johnson. But it was so busy on the red carpet and so crazy in the crowds that I’m not surprised. Also, not impressed that Rachel Weisz didn’t come onto the red carpet herself and she met her husband Craig backstage.
Here are my personal pictures. They aren’t of the best quality because everything and everyone was constantly moving!

Kate Winslet’s ex dating Rebecca Hall
Kate Winslet’s ex husband Sam Mendes is now dating actress Rebecca Hall, who was considered a reason for Kate and Sam’s divorce earlier this year.
During their divorce, Sam’s friendship with Rebecca was cited as a problem as they were close and were spending a lot of time together. At the time, Sam said the allegations were “untrue and ridiculous.”
A rep for the new couple have confirmed their relationship but did not reveal any extra details.
Kate is now dating Sir Richard Branson’s newphew Ned Rocknroll.
I can’t believe this! It makes you wonder whether there was actually something going on between Sam and Rebecca all along and they have kept it hidden until now. It is definitely very suspicious.
