The Little Stranger: Film Review

I read The Little Stranger by Sarah Waters purely because I knew Domhnall Gleeson was going to be starring in the adaptation, to be directed by Lenny Abrahamson. I am a huge fan of them both, obviously, but sadly the film doesn’t capture all the building tension, mystery and intrigue of the book, yet retains its annoyingly vague ending.

How to Talk to Girls at Parties: Film Review

How to Talk to Girls at Parties was one of the films I was most excited to watch at the London Film Festival, but I wasn’t alone and every public screening sold out, so I had wait until now to see it. Unfortunately it didn’t quite live up to expectations, even though I had a lot of fun with it.

Tony Awards 2015: Best & Worst Dressed

I don’t usually cover the Tony Awards when I do my red carpet outfit ratings but so many dresses caught my eye this year that I simply couldn’t resist. There weren’t many bad ones actually – I’m mainly here to big up the beautiful dresses – including one of my favourites, Jennifer Lopez. I’m used to her flaunting her body and wearing skimpy/barely-there clothes that this was a breath of fresh air. And what a gorgeous dress too! She looks stunning. Suite Francaise: Film Review

The poster and trailer make Suite Francaise look like an incredibly powerful and moving romance drama set during the German occupation in France. Only the latter part of that sentence is true and the romance side is neither powerful or moving, which was a total letdown as I had gone in expecting a story which would break my heart.
