Oscar 2013: After-party pics

On Oscars night, it is all about the parties once the winners have been announced. There are the big three- the Governor’s Ball, the Vanity Fair party and the Elton John party.

Here are the party highlights across those three events:

Chris Brown

Surprisingly, Chris seemed to be hanging out with everyone and there are some surreal pictures of who he met up with.

Well, he’s the host of one of the biggest parties in town, so naturally he knows everyone there.

Adele has done amazingly well despite being away for over a year so no wonder she wanted to make the most of her night out.

Videos: Best Bits from the Oscars show

Jennifer Lawrence falls over

Unless you’ve been in a cave today, you will have heard that Jennifer fell over on the way to accept her award for Best Leading Actress. It is such a mortifying situation so she had to praised for how she handled it. She addressed it and then carried on as normal. It makes me like her even more. Poor girl- her dress rips at the SAGs and now this!

Seth MacFarlane opening monologue

Sadly, this video is only a recap of the monologue (for a full video of it, see here). There was some concerns that Seth’s dirty humour wouldn’t go down too well and the comments on his performance are definitely split. I personally enjoyed the musical numbers and the sketches but his stand-up comedy was awkward and the whole monologue was a bit too long. I do have a clip of Seth’s tongue-in-cheek song named “We Saw Your Boobs”.

Clip of Adele’s performance and speech

Adele performed at the Oscars last night for the first time since the birth of her child. She also picked up the Oscar for Best Original Song, and here you can see her getting a bit emotional.

Les Misérables cast perform

Proving that they can all sing live- the entire cast of Les Mis performed One Day More on the stage as part of the celebration of musicals. It was amazing to see.

Oscars 2013: Behind-the-scenes pics

The four acting winners celebrate in the press room after the Oscars ceremony has finished. Goodness knows why, but Jennifer Lawrence took that opportunity to swear at the press! Bizarre, but I still love her.

And while it seems like Anne Hathaway and Jen are just getting on for press purposes- here is proof that they get along just fine backstage. I love how happy they are!

Anne seems to get on with everybody. Here she is backstage with Kristen Stewart, presumably asking her why the heck she is on crutches. That’s what all wanted to know. Apparently, she cut up her foot on some glass and is having trouble walking but she is capable to posing for the cameras without it.

There are some other great pictures of celebrities getting along backstage- including George Clooney, Ben Affleck and Jack Nicholson. What a cool crew.

And Charlize Theron with Quentin Tarantino:

Adele’s face coming off stage explains how shocked she is at picking up an Original Song Oscar. She’s so cool.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt also posted some pictures to Facebook. One: him joking around with Daniel Radcliffe while they rehearse their opening musical number. Two: Sally Field helping Joe with his bow tie. These images are priceless!

Oscars 2013: Fashion Hits and Misses

As it is the Oscars, celebs go all out with the fashion which means you usually get some really, really great dresses and some truly awful ones. There were no shocks unfortunately (except that you can see Anne Hathaway’s nipples through her dress!) but the poorly dressed just didn’t compare to the others or it was simply a risky or ill-advised choice.

Here are my best and worst dressed.

Amy Adams

It is unusual for me to like something like this but I think Amy looks stunning. The Oscars are the perfect opportunity to wear huge ballgowns so Amy didn’t hold back. The bust is fitted and detailed perfectly. Love it.

Jessica Chastain

I have been loving Jessica’s award season taste- she is spot on every time. I think she has worn better gowns but I think this is simple and gorgeous.

Amanda Seyfried

I love Amanda style and this pale number is amazing- the detailing, the halterneck, the fit on the bust, all perfect.

Jennifer Garner

I love that Jennifer has picked a unique colour and it really suits her. It may look like those parts are sticking out the sides like wings but it’s actually part of the detailing at the back.

Charlize Theron

I think this gown suits Charlize perfectly. It goes so well with her funky hairdo. It is such a strong look.

Anne Hathaway

I think dress is very simple but so pretty. I love the material and just check out that necklace! I think it works because of her cropped hair. Check out the nipples too haha!

Helena Bonham Carter

This is hardly a bit surprise because Helena has always had quirky tastes. Her hair is a mess and there are too many different coloured layers to that skirt.

Kristen Stewart

I really dislike this but a lot of people love it. I just don’t like the detailing and I don’t think it hangs off her properly. Plus the mermaid fin look isn’t cool.

Naomi Watts

I just don’t like it, which is so disappointing as I’m usually a fan of her style picks. If the left boob was symmetrical to the right,  I may like it but I just don’t like what’s going on at the top.

Nicole Kidman

This was just far too shiny so I don’t like how it looks. It looks wet!

Sandra Bullock

I am not loving the bottom of the skirt- it reminds of a gypsy skirt and that’s not a red carpet look.

Halle Berry

This had a futuristic vibe to it that I simply wasn’t feeling.

Oscars 2013: The winners

If you are like me and have just got off work, then you will need a recap of the winners of the Oscars 2013. The wins were evenly spread across across the competing movies and there weren’t many shocks except Ang Lee winning Best Director for Life of Pi, simply because the film hadn’t won much except in the effects categories. News Round-Up: Kim Kardashian, Oscars & Razzies

Katie Price

Katie Price has announced that she is pregnant just five weeks after marrying her new husband, Kieran Hayler. This will be her fourth child with three different men. The pregnancy wasn’t planned but Katie said they’re “over the moon”.

She already has Harvey, 10, with Dwight Yorke plus Junior, 7, and Princess, 5, with Peter Andre. Her marriage to Kieran is her third after failed marriages with Peter Andre and Alex Reid. She wed Kieran after a month-long romance.

Kim Kardashian & Kanye West

The rapper and reality star duo have revealed that their first child together will be a girl. The pregnancy was announced on December 30th after Kanye spilled the beans onstage at a gig. The pair have been dating since April last year and it is thought the baby is due around June/July.

The Oscars, which will be televised tonight, will feature a musical segment in which cast members from Les Misérables, Chicago and Dreamgirls will showcase celebrated musicals from the last decade. It is thought they will sing live, yet, according to reports, Catherine Zeta-Jones has been rehearsing All That Jazz with a pre-recorded track. Richard Gere said on Graham Norton Show on Friday night that he would be there with his Chicago cast members but they wouldn’t be singing…is he telling a fib?! Who knows what’s going to happen- I just can’t wait to see it!

The Twilight Saga

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part II won seven awards at the Golden Raspberries this year (and there are only ten categories). This is not good news as this is a spoof award show and the awards go to the “worst” actress etc. The Twilight films always win something every year but this is the biggest sweep ever.

They “won” in: Worst Picture, Worst Sequel, Worst Actress, Worst Supporting Actor (Taylor Lautner), Worst Screen Ensemble, Worst Director and Worst Screen Couple. The others that won were Adam Sandler (a Razzies regular) for That’s My Boy, Rihanna for Battleship and That’s My Boy again for Worst Screenplay.
