The Predator: Film Review

Besides the 1987 original, I haven’t been bothered about seeing any of the other instalments in the Predator franchise, but I wanted to take a chance on The Predator because of director Shane Black (who actually had a small role in the original), the A+ cast, and because the trailer made it look pretty cool. Shame it’s a bit of a mess then.

American Music Awards: Best & Worst Dressed

You know I love a good red carpet! There were some absolutely gorgeous outfits at the American Music Awards in Los Angeles last night – my favourite was Ariana Grande‘s crop top and white high-waisted trousers. I want this look!

X-Men: Apocalypse – Film Review

The initial reaction to X-Men: Apocalypse was very mixed so I went in with low expectations and this probably helped because I actually liked it. Sure, it’s not as good as Days of Future Past and it’s pretty bleak, but it is still a decent watch with some great performances so I definitely recommend checking it out if you’re into this kind of thing.

My Top Ten: Zoolander 2 cameos

Zoolander 2 has been out for a couple of weeks now but I have only just managed to see it. I generally agree with the reviews – it is not as good as the original one and at times it isn’t funny at all – but I think we can all agree the celebrity cameos were the most impressive thing about it (plus all the original cast returning).

Independent Spirit Awards 2015: Best & Worst Dressed

I don’t usually cover the Independent Spirit Awards but this year I simply couldn’t resist because I was seriously impressed with the fashion on the pink carpet – especially Emma Stone who has been nailing it this awards season. Her pantsuit at the Golden Globes was incredible (check it here) and now this. She has been a consistent one, whereas Julianne Moore, who I have been praising a lot recently dropped the ball a bit. I know this is the day before the Oscars so they probably care less about this and would rather save their best for last (and most prestigious) so I’m hope Moore turns it around. I was also so impressed with Kristin Wiig, who looked absolutely fabulous.

People’s Choice Awards: Red Carpet Fashion

The celebrities headed to the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles to the People’s Choice Awards. This show has so many categories that it is impossible to write them all (see the full winners list here) but the main winner was The Hunger Games, which won in all major film categories. Twilight lost out to it in every category except “best fans” for the Twihards. Katy Perry won a couple and the biggest shocker of the night was that Jason Mraz beat Justin Bieber to the Male Artist award.

Anyway, enough about the winners- I want to see the red carpet fashion! Here are my top hits and misses:

Julianne Hough

This is so pretty. I love the colour as well.

Lea Michele

This isn’t a colour I would expect to like but Lea manages to pull it off.

Brittany Snow

This is a subtle colour but it really suits Brittany’s skin tone.

Taylor Swift

She looks so grown up in this gown. It makes her breasts look good too, which usually difficult with such a deep V.

Paris Hilton

Now, this will split opinion because some people have called it garish. It isn’t exactly an awards dress but I love the print regardless. I dislike the shoes- I don’t think they work and they overdo the boldness. I would wear this!

Naomi Watts

It looks like this gold top was just stuck on her front- it looks horrible. The rest of the dress is okay though.

Olivia Munn

The skirt on this is nasty- it is like a doily.

Jennifer Lawrence

This is surprising because Jennifer is usually really good with fashion. This just makes her look frumpy. It is nasty.

Emma Watson

This is such a weird dress. The top half and bottom don’t go at all. I hate the top- it’s leather, it has random holes and weird frills. The pattern on the skirt part is nice though.

Let me know what you think of my choices!
