Golden Globes nominations 2017: The comedy/musical section is obsolete

The Golden Globe nominations came out today and you can read the full list here. The reason the Golden Globes annoy me is because they divide all the acting categories between drama and musical/comedy and frankly, there hasn’t been enough awards-worthy roles in the latter so it’s been filled with some questionable entries. Surely it’s time to just combine all the movie acting categories?

Nocturnal Animals: Film Review

Nocturnal Animals is a difficult film to review because I’m not entirely sure if I made sense of it and understood the deeper meaning, but while it is an odd, intriguing and surprising film, it is without a doubt another triumph for the fashion designer and director Tom Ford, in his second only feature.

I saw a bucketload of films at this year’s London Film Festival. Amy Adams, Colin Firth and Aaron-Taylor Johnson hit the Nocturnal Animals red carpet

Friday was a two premiere day for me – first up was Nocturnal Animals, which stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Amy Adams, Armie Hammer and Aaron Taylor-Johnson. Unfortunately, Gyllenhaal didn’t come to the London Film Festival but his absence was replaced by the epic Colin Firth – who isn’t even in the movie but is good friends with director Tom Ford, who previously worked with him on A Single Man.
