See behind-the-scenes of the Transformers: The Last Knight car chase in London

Anthony Hopkins

Anthony Hopkins

Today I learned that Michael Bay had shut down The Mall, a very famous (and expensive to close!) road in central London – on a Saturday no less – for the fifth instalment of Transformers, The Last Knight. So of course I went down to check it out. This was the first time I have ever watched on-location filming and I couldn’t believe how lucky I was – I saw multiple car chases, explosions, Anthony Hopkins and Bay himself – and you can see it all below!

Top Films for September

How is it September already?! I can’t believe it’s here but there is an impressive slate of films heading your way this month, so I had to expand my usual five-six recommendations to eight and I could have even included more. There is THAT much cool stuff coming up.

Mojave: Film Review

An intense crime thriller starring Oscar Isaac and Garrett Hedlund?! Sign me up! Mojave sounded right up my street but sadly this completely fails to thrill, excite or make me feel anything.

Daddy’s Home: Film Review

The trailer for Daddy’s Home looked awful and I am not one of those people who love Will Ferrell in everything so I was dreading having to go and see such a terrible movie. It turned out to be pretty good. Not great, not amazing but a more decent comedy offering than I was bracing myself for.

Mark Wahlberg & Will Ferrell: Daddy’s Home Premiere Pics

Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell came to London’s Leicester Square tonight to promote their new comedy Daddy’s Home and for some funny dudes, they were actually kinda dull.

Ted 2: Film Review

Although Ted was a commercial and critical success back in 2012, I was still quite surprised when the sequel was announced because I didn’t think the storyline lent itself to anything more. And that does show here as the plot is pretty thin and it is more of the same. It’s still pretty good fun though.

Entourage: Film Review

I have only seen the first season of Entourage and I was concerned that I would not get the movie but there was no need to worry as it is so accessible to newcomers and so enjoyable that I think everyone can get onboard with it.

Videos: Spring Breakers, Mark Wahlberg & Jennifer Lawrence

Spring Breakers

I cannot wait for this! What a cast. I’m so excited to see Selena Gomez, Ashley Benson and Vanessa Hudgens do something really grown up and edgy. Selena has already warned her young fans against seeing the movie. James Franco is playing some crazy bad guy as well- check out the accent, tattoos and teeth! The girls get involved in dodgy business when they steal money from a restaurant.

Mark Wahlberg

You know when celebs give too much information?! Well, Mark Wahlberg has totally done that by revealing his ingrown toenail on Ellen. I can’t believe he got it out!

Jennifer Lawrence

Here is the full video of Jennifer’s interview with David Letterman. She is really interesting and so down-to-earth but here are the highlights I recommend. In the beginning, she talks about how she was a “pathological liar” when she was a kid. Around 5 mins, she talks about her “I beat Meryl!” comment at the Golden Globes. At 9 mins, she wants to talks about a picture of her on the beach in which her bum has been photoshopped to look bad. She exclaimed “That’s not my butt!”

Mark Walhberg confirmed for Transformers 4

I think we all groaned when Michael Bay announced there would be a Transformer 4 ESPECIALLY when Shia LaBeouf had already said he would not play Sam Whitwicky anymore.

However, Mark Wahlberg has signed on to be the lead role of the next instalment which does intrigue me. I would still see it because I want to know how the story is going to work. Is he playing older Sam? Will any other characters return?

I just feel like this is such a cash cow. Bay knows they make a lot of money so wants to do more even though it was only intended to be a trilogy. Let’s be honest, the third one wasn’t that great (although better than two) so you know the fourth is going to be rubbish. I’m amazed someone like Mark agreed to this.

Bay said, “Mark is awesome. We had a blast working on  Pain and Gain  and I’m so fired up to be back working with him. An actor of his calibre is the perfect guy to re-invigorate the franchise and carry on the  Transformers’ legacy.”

The movie will begin shooting next year and has an estimated release date on June 2014.
