I had been hearing about Uncut Gems on Twitter for months and was excited to finally know what all the fuss was about. And daaaaamn, Uncut Gems is such a stressful watch. I breathed out a sigh of relief once it was all over.

Top Films for December
It’s the start of December so that means it is time for my usual monthly preview! Here is my last recommendation list of the year:
Sorry to Bother You: Film Review
I was so excited to see Sorry to Bother You and I’m glad it’s finally been given a UK release, but it is very, very odd. The first half is absolutely brilliant and I loved it so, so much, but it totally lost me towards the end when it got too weird.
The Girl in the Spider’s Web: Film Review
The Girl in the Spider’s Web had an uphill battle to impress me from the beginning because I’ve always really wanted more instalments from the Rooney Mara-David Fincher team rather than what is essentially a reboot with a new director and actress. I also wasn’t convinced about the casting of Claire Foy as Lisbeth Salander, and while she may have changed my mind a little bit, the film itself just felt unnecessary and substandard compared to the others.
Sorry to Bother You: LFF Film Review
I had heard so many amazing things about Sorry to Bother You so I was among those successfully campaigning for it to get a UK release. The first half is absolutely brilliant and I loved it so, so much, but it totally lost me towards the end when it got too weird.
Get Out: Film Review
Get Out had a lot of hype to live up to. It has excelled at the box office in the U.S. and scored rave reviews so I was expecting a lot and because of this, it ever-so-slightly let me down. The hype had made me come to expect perfection and Get Out is close but not 100% flawless.
