Jumanji: The Next Level – Film Review

As someone who loved the original 1995 Jumanji, I was not onboard for a remake but then Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle completely won me over. It was pleasantly surprising, entertaining and different and went on to do very well at the box office, so it was no surprise that a sequel was given the go-ahead. I thought the trailer for Jumanji: The Next Level was pants and assumed that it would be some rubbish money-grabbing exercise, but it’s actually very good.

Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle – Film Review

 

I am a HUGE fan of the 1995 Jumanji, it is one of my childhood favourites and makes me incredibly nostalgic, so I was both annoyed and upset when they announced this sequel because I didn’t want them to ruin it. I went into this with a seriously critical eye, wanting to hate it with a passion, but I was pleasantly surprised by how entertaining it was.

Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie – Film Review

I had no interest in seeing Captain Underpants – I had never read one of the books, I didn’t even know what they were about and the movie looked rubbish. But I was wrong. It isn’t a masterpiece or anything, but as a slice of children’s entertainment it is pretty good.

Central Intelligence: Film Review

I haven’t seen a great deal of Kevin Hart’s movies, like Ride Along or Get Hard, because I thought his style of humour didn’t really float my boat, but I was so wrong. I gave Central Intelligence a go and it is really bloody funny – thanks to quality comedy work from both Hart and Dwayne Johnson.
