The Lion King: Film Review

The Lion King is not just another Disney live-action remake to me, it is THE Disney remake – the one I’ve been waiting for with a mix of excitement and trepidation. As you can probably tell from my previous articles, the 1994 original means a lot to me so the remake had a lot riding on it – so I’m pleased to report I was satisfied, although not completely won over.

Toy Story 4: Film Review

For a long time I had been worried about Toy Story 4 because I thought Toy Story 3 ended things perfectly so I feared another instalment would ruin that. And now I’ve seen it I have to admit I didn’t think it was totally necessary.

The Predator: Film Review

Besides the 1987 original, I haven’t been bothered about seeing any of the other instalments in the Predator franchise, but I wanted to take a chance on The Predator because of director Shane Black (who actually had a small role in the original), the A+ cast, and because the trailer made it look pretty cool. Shame it’s a bit of a mess then.

Why Him?: Film Review

I haven’t seen a good new comedy in what feels like ages and I must admit Why Him? didn’t seem like the candidate as the trailer didn’t fill me with high hopes and I wondered why Bryan Cranston would sign up for something so poor. I was wrong, Why Him? is actually good and I enjoyed it a lot.
