Hotel Artemis: Film Review

Hotel Artemis came out quite a while ago in America and it received mixed reviews, so I foolishly went in not expecting much from it and came away pleasantly surprised – it is intriguing and very entertaining.

Money Monster: Film Review

money2

Seeing George Clooney playing a charismatic but douchey TV host who dances and has plenty of gimmicks is something I never knew I wanted but thanks to Money Monster we all get to enjoy those moments, which are the total highlights of this political thriller slash comedy. Yep, you read that correctly. It’s an odd combo but one I loved immensely. Big fan of Jodie Foster’s latest directorial effort.

Videos: Ben Affleck, Jodie Foster & Justin Timberlake

Ben Affleck

I love Ben’s speech purely because he looks so shocked to have won best director (and he will later win best film for Argo) at the Golden Globes and because of the touching tribute he gives to his wife, Jennifer Garner. He is so sweet.

Jodie Foster

If you skip to 1:40 you will see Jodie Foster finally opening up about her sexual orientation while picking up the Cecile B. DeMille Lifetime Achievement Golden Globe. While she doesn’t say the words exactly, she speaks about her “coming out party” and later on, when she is thanking close friends, she calls Cyndey Bernard her “ex-partner in love but righteous soul sister in life.” Wowzers, what a way to declare you are gay! Very bold. I am proud of her bravery but at the same time, it was all a bit weird.

Justin Timberlake

Now, this isn’t to do with the Golden Globes. Last night, dropped his first single for his next album. The album will be the first since 2006’s FutureSex/LoveSounds. The track, much like Destiny’s Child’s, is disappointing. It has been such a long time coming that you expect something amazing when it is just okay. The verses are quite chorus but the chorus is boring and the Jay-Z is rubbish.
