The Neon Demon: Film Review

I am not a diehard Nicolas Winding Refn fan – I like Drive and that’s about it. I absolutely hated Only God Forgives, so my expectations were extremely low for The Neon Demon, especially when I read about its crazy content following its debut at Cannes. Because of the forewarning, I probably wasn’t as shocked as I should have been, so for me, the film was fine and I liked it.

Independent Spirit Awards 2015: Best & Worst Dressed

I don’t usually cover the Independent Spirit Awards but this year I simply couldn’t resist because I was seriously impressed with the fashion on the pink carpet – especially Emma Stone who has been nailing it this awards season. Her pantsuit at the Golden Globes was incredible (check it here) and now this. She has been a consistent one, whereas Julianne Moore, who I have been praising a lot recently dropped the ball a bit. I know this is the day before the Oscars so they probably care less about this and would rather save their best for last (and most prestigious) so I’m hope Moore turns it around. I was also so impressed with Kristin Wiig, who looked absolutely fabulous.

The Hunger Games: Mockingay – Part I Film Review

I desperately wanted to like this and I have been hyping it up for months so my expectations were pretty high. However, I had my reservations when they announced Mockingjay would be split into two films because I didn’t there was enough action to sustain two and I was right. In the first half of the book, it was build-up to the rebellion and setting the scene and that is essentially what happens here – making it the dullest instalment of the franchise so far.
