I’m not a big fan of horror films but I loved the first chapter of IT. I thought it was a terrifying horror but also a funny coming-of-age piece. Naturally, given it’s set 27 years later, Chapter Two doesn’t have that coming-of-age aspect anymore and so I didn’t enjoy it quite as much.
X-Men: Dark Phoenix – Film Review
After the shambles of 2016’s X-Men: Apocalypse, I was pretty much done with the franchise and not at all excited for Dark Phoenix. Despite this, I tried to go in with an open mind and it’s actually quite good. It has a lot of problems, but I was entertained for the most part.
Glass: Film Review

Top films for May
It’s the start of the month which means it’s time to look ahead to all the wonderful cinema releases coming our way in May. Here are my top picks:
Atomic Blonde: Film Review
I had been excited for Atomic Blonde for a while cos I love a spy movie and films about kick ass women. This had both and I was not disappointed.
X-Men: Apocalypse – Film Review
The initial reaction to X-Men: Apocalypse was very mixed so I went in with low expectations and this probably helped because I actually liked it. Sure, it’s not as good as Days of Future Past and it’s pretty bleak, but it is still a decent watch with some great performances so I definitely recommend checking it out if you’re into this kind of thing.
Top Films for 2016
2016 has well and truly kicked off so what better time to look at the movies coming up in the year ahead and get excited about some the releases to come?
Top Films for December
Another month, another upcoming preview! It seems most releases have done the sensible thing and steered clear of December and the super anticipated release of Stars Wars – The Force Awakens. Of the films on offer, there are some dreadful-looking comedies and the critically panned Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie outing By The Sea – so there isn’t much I want to see. Here are the picks that scrape by:
