My favourite performances of 2017

This is the first time I have done a ‘favourite performances’ end-of-year list, and that’s because there are many which deserve a shoutout. Obviously some have achieved recognition at the awards, but there are plenty which won’t get a look in and I think they should get an honourable mention too.

Paddington 2: Film Review

I loved the original Paddington so much and I was certain that the sequel couldn’t possibly top it, but how wrong I was! Paddington 2 somehow manages to be better in every way and is easily one of the best films of 2017.

bridge1

I felt reassured by the trailer but I still approached it with caution – I really didn’t want it to suck and ruin the series for me forever so I am beyond pleased to say it was well worth the 13-year wait.

Florence Foster Jenkins: Film Review

flo2

XXX MAN UNCLE MOV JY 1187 .JPG A ENT

I was not at all excited about The Man From U.N.C.L.E. when it was announced and publicity material did not nothing for me either, so I was very surprised to find myself enjoying every minute of it. As someone without a clue about the 1960s TV series, I cannot say if it can be held in as much high regard as the show, but certainly works for newcomers like me.
