On Chesil Beach: Film Review

I am a huge Saoirse Ronan fan so I will check her out in anything, but On Chesil Beach was also appealing to me because I like adaptations of Ian McEwan novels like Atonement and Enduring Love. This certainly isn’t as emotionally gruelling as Atonement, but the leads put in tremendous performances.

Everest: Film Review


I have been excited by this for a while because I like disaster movies, this is based on a true story, it has a stellar cast and it looked amazing. I was not let down. Everest was actually better than I expected. It is by no means perfect but it was gripping, heart-breaking and stunning.

A Royal Night Out: Film Review


A Royal Night Out is essentially what could have happened when Princesses Elizabeth (Sarah Gadon) and Margaret (Bel Powley) go for their first ever night out in London to celebrate VE Day. It isn’t totally truthful – the royals DID go out to mark the end of World War II, but it was a much quieter affair – which wouldn’t have made for such a fun film.
