Widows: Film Review

I’m a big fan of Steve McQueen‘s previous films – like Hunger, Shame and 12 Years A Slave – so I was excited to see him take on more mainstream, blockbuster fare, and the incredible cast he recruited for Widows was another big plus. Thankfully, Widows is just what I hoped it would be – a thrilling heist drama.

Peter Rabbit: Film Review

As much as I love Domhnall Gleeson, I must admit that I didn’t like the look of Peter Rabbit much. The trailer really didn’t sell it to me, so I was very surprised to find that it is a fun family movie that I enjoyed immensely.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2: Film Review

Like everyone else, I was surprised how much I liked the first Guardians of the Galaxy and it did so well against low expectations. The problem with the sequel, like all follow-ups, was that it had pressure to be better, or at least as good as, its predecessor, which is something Vol.2 didn’t manage to achieve.

Everest: Film Review

I have been excited by this for a while because I like disaster movies, this is based on a true story, it has a stellar cast and it looked amazing. I was not let down. Everest was actually better than I expected. It is by no means perfect but it was gripping, heart-breaking and stunning.

The Man From U.N.C.L.E.: Film Review

I was not at all excited about The Man From U.N.C.L.E. when it was announced and publicity material did not nothing for me either, so I was very surprised to find myself enjoying every minute of it. As someone without a clue about the 1960s TV series, I cannot say if it can be held in as much high regard as the show, but certainly works for newcomers like me.
