Hotel Artemis: Film Review

Hotel Artemis came out quite a while ago in America and it received mixed reviews, so I foolishly went in not expecting much from it and came away pleasantly surprised – it is intriguing and very entertaining.

Blade Runner 2049: Film Review

With sequels, there is always that concern about whether the second instalment with tarnish the reputation of the first, especially one so well-loved as Blade Runner. It was certainly a risk with Blade Runner 2049, which comes 35 years after the original, but luckily they have waited that long to make sure they have created something that is loyal to its predecessor and builds upon its success. No easy feat.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 European premiere: My pics

On Monday night, the cast of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 came to London to premiere to movie at the Hammersmith Apollo, which is traditionally a music venue. It was an odd choice and like no premiere I’ve ever seen, for better or worse, but I took plenty of pictures of it all to show you.

Spectre Premiere: Picture Gallery

Daniel Craig

Daniel Craig

Tonight I went to the premiere for the latest James Bond movie Spectre – which was probably the biggest and most extravagant premiere I have ever been to. Oh my God, the red carpet was so long I couldn’t see the start, it was held at the fancy Royal Albert Hall rather than the regular Leicester Square and I have never seen so much talent for one film!

Spectre always had a struggle on its hands trying to top Skyfall, which was the franchise’s most successful film yet. The hype around Spectre was insane and it failed to deliver on the high level of expectation. That doesn’t mean Spectre is a bad movie, it was simply disappointing because I had hopes for so much more.

My pics from the Avengers: Age of Ultron premiere

avengers 002

Tonight the stars of Avengers: Age of Ultron (and there are many!) come out to London’s Westfield shopping centre for the European premiere of the movie. All the lead cast were there – Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Robert Downey Jr, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner and Mark Ruffalo plus new members of the cast Elizabeth Olsen, Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Paul Bettany and writer/director Joss Whedon. Pretty sweet turnout, right?! No wonder it was so packed.

Guardians of the Galaxy: Film Review

guard2

When I first saw the trailer for this, I was not won over, which is unusual for me and Marvel movies but this just seemed a bit weird and I didn’t know what to make of it. However, I was completely wrong. It may have helped that my expectations were low but I loved it. It’s so enjoyable and way better than I ever imagined it would be.

So today was my third and final day of Guardians of the Galaxy fun and what a way to end it. This Q&A at London’s Apple Store was probably the best I’ve been to. These guys were just brilliant. Dave Bautista, Chris Pratt and director James Gunn clearly have a great working relationship. They bounced off each other and the whole session had the audience in stitches.
