Artemis Fowl was originally supposed to open in cinemas but, when the coronavirus pandemic hit, Disney made the surprising move of offloading its big-budget adaptation of Eoin Colfer‘s novels onto its streaming service Disney+ – but now that I’ve seen the movie, their decision makes total sense. The film is really not good.
The Gentlemen: Film Review
It was good to see Guy Ritchie returning to his gangster roots and doing what he does best – a crime caper – but The Gentlemen just wasn’t my cup of tea.
Dumbo: Film Review
There are lots of Disney live-action remakes coming up and I wasn’t immediately thrilled about the idea of a Dumbo one, so I was pleasantly surprised and satisfied to learn that it’s a faithful remake and expansion of the 1941 original.

Tonight it was the London premiere of Dumbo and the stars from the film – including Colin Farrell, Eva Green and Danny DeVito – joined director Tim Burton on the stripey carpet at the Curzon Mayfair.

It’s the start of the month which means it’s time for my cinema preview! Here are the releases I’m most excited for in March.
Widows: Film Review
I’m a big fan of Steve McQueen‘s previous films – like Hunger, Shame and 12 Years A Slave – so I was excited to see him take on more mainstream, blockbuster fare, and the incredible cast he recruited for Widows was another big plus. Thankfully, Widows is just what I hoped it would be – a thrilling heist drama.

When Denzel Washington was nominated for a Golden Globe for Roman J. Israel, Esq, I was surprised because I didn’t even know the film existed. I had heard nothing about it and its release has been pretty much swept under carpet in the UK, and I understood why when I watched it.
