I became aware of Luca Guadagnino thanks to his excellent films A Bigger Splash and Call Me By Your Name, so I was naturally going to check his remake of the 1977 Italian horror film Suspiria, even though that genre isn’t my bag and it’s not the sexy romance film I know him for. And I’m glad I did, because he has just nailed it again.

The Miseducation of Cameron Post: Film Review

I saw The Miseducation of Cameron Post, which won the Grand Jury prize at the main Sundance Film Festival, at Sundance London just days after I had read Emily Danforth‘s novel, and because of this I couldn’t help but be nitpicky, noticing all the differences between the book and the film instead of appreciating the film for what it was.

My favourite kick-ass screen heroines

Atomic Blonde comes out today and I bloody loved it (read review here) and mostly because Charlize Theron portrays such a badass heroine who just wipes the floor with everyone she comes up against. She is basically awesome.

Bad Neighbours 2: Film Review

I loved the 2014 comedy Bad Neighbours and since it did so well at the box office it was no surprise a sequel was ordered. I was wary of it though because I didn’t think it could beat the original, be as remotely funny or be anything more than a repeat of previous events. But I didn’t need to worry – Bad Neighbours 2 is brilliant and such a laugh.
