My reaction to 2010’s Alice in Wonderland was distinctly average – it was ‘meh’, alright but forgettable – so I wasn’t massively looking forward to this sequel, which has taken a big six-year gap and switched directors from Tim Burton to James Bobin. The box office takings were huge, but this sequel still feels unwarranted.

I assumed Eye in the Sky would follow a team of drone pilots and present a series of situations, but it doesn’t, this focuses on one sole case presented in real time as the military and politicians hash out whether to strike or not.

A Little Chaos: Film Review

The title A Little Chaos is very apt because the whole film is a damn mess. Even great performances from Kate Winslet, Matthias Schoenaerts, Stanley Tucci and Alan Rickman cannot save this period drama from being all over the place.

In Rickman’s second directorial effort, Winslet stars as Sabine de Barra, a landscape gardener who is given the coveted job of creating an outdoor dance space in the grounds of the Palace of Versailles by architect De Notre (Shoenaerts) on behalf of King Louis XIV (Rickman).
