Golden Globes nominations 2017: The comedy/musical section is obsolete

deadpool

The Golden Globe nominations came out today and you can read the full list here. The reason the Golden Globes annoy me is because they divide all the acting categories between drama and musical/comedy and frankly, there hasn’t been enough awards-worthy roles in the latter so it’s been filled with some questionable entries. Surely it’s time to just combine all the movie acting categories?

Nocturnal Animals: Film Review

Nocturnal Animals is a difficult film to review because I’m not entirely sure if I made sense of it and understood the deeper meaning, but while it is an odd, intriguing and surprising film, it is without a doubt another triumph for the fashion designer and director Tom Ford, in his second only feature.

Amy Adams, Colin Firth and Aaron-Taylor Johnson hit the Nocturnal Animals red carpet

Friday was a two premiere day for me – first up was Nocturnal Animals, which stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Amy Adams, Armie Hammer and Aaron Taylor-Johnson. Unfortunately, Gyllenhaal didn’t come to the London Film Festival but his absence was replaced by the epic Colin Firth – who isn’t even in the movie but is good friends with director Tom Ford, who previously worked with him on A Single Man.

Avengers: Age of Ultron Film Review

avengers3

I was on such a hype for Avengers: Age of Ultron and while it did deliver the goods, I was not thinking ‘this is f**king awesome!’ throughout like I did the first one.  I am being quite harsh – in regular film standards, this was amazing and so enjoyable but I just loved the first Avengers so much that I left feeling ever-so-slightly deflated.

Pics from the Fifty Shades of Grey premiere

Tonight I headed to the London premiere of the highly-anticipated movie adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey. The stars of the film, Dakota Johnson and a very-beardy Jamie Dornan (above), hit the grey carpet in Leicester Square along with director Sam-Taylor Johnson and her Kick-Ass actor husband Aaron Taylor-Johnson and author E.L. James.

Top Films For May

Film Title: Neighbors

Bad Neighbours

I have been looking forward to this for ages because I am a massive Zac Efron fan and I think that Seth Rogen is hilarious. This comedy sees grown-up parents (Rogen and Rose Byrne) pitted against a college fraternity, lead by Efron, who have moved in next door and are making their lives hell. Released: 3rd May
