Highlights and pictures from the Star Wars: The Last Jedi press conference

Today the cast and crew of Star Wars: The Last Jedi came to London’s Corinthia Hotel for a press conference – and I have all the pictures and highlights.

The cast in attendance were (L-R) – Rian Johnson, Mark Hamill, Daisy Ridley, Benicio del Toro, Oscar Isaac, John Boyega, Kelly Marie Tran, Laura Dern, Domhnall Gleeson, Gwendoline Christie and Andy Serkis.

Here are some interesting pointers from the press conference:

Adam Driver was down to attend the event but he wasn’t there. I was gutted as I missed him at the premiere too

– Mark Hamill was being weird and a bit off. For a while he seemed to have zoned out and was focusing on his shoes rather than what was going on. At one point, he was asked a question and he asked for it to be repeated because he “wasn’t listening”(cue awkward faces from the cast) and another time he joked he had gone to sleep. Luckily, he brought it back in the last 10 minutes and was hilarious

– John Boyega joked that he invited Daisy Ridley to a house party last night but she didn’t show up. She exclaimed, “No, you didn’t! You told me about it but you didn’t invite me” and he realised she was right! Hilarious.

– Mark Hamill quizzed Prince William and Harry about the line of royalty – wondering if Luke Skywalker became royal after learning he was Princess Leia’s sister!

– Mark Hamill felt nostalgic for his old times as Luke Skywalker working with the younger ones as they were taking Luke’s place in the films – the rooky pilot (Poe), the Jedi apprentice (Rey)

– Daisy Ridley felt like more of a bad-ass this time around as she spent more time doing strength training rather than stunt training

– Rian Johnson’s favourite memory of Carrie Fisher is before the film, when they were hanging out at her house and going through her old diaries as she was in the middle of writing The Princess Diarist.
