Top Films for May 2017

How the heck are we at May already?! I feel you guys. But at least it means we have some great movies to look forward to over the next few weeks. Here are my recommendations.

Miss Sloane

I love Jessica Chastain so this is an absolute no brainer. It came out in America aaaages ago and I’ve already seen it so I can give it a recommendation wholeheartedly. She plays a fierce lobbyist who is basically trying to stop a bill about gun legislation being passed. It is intense and there a lot of deceptions along the way. Released: 12th May

Alien: Covenant

I personally loved Prometheus so I am so psyched about this sequel. From the trailer, this looks hella scary and I’m so ready for it. Basically, a team go to explore what they think is an uncharted territory, but they’re not the first there. Michael Fassbender is back and is joined by the likes of Katherine Waterston, Danny McBride and James Franco. Released: 12th May

I really liked Amy Schumer’s first movie effort Trainwreck so I hope this has a similar sense of humour. Amy stars alongside Goldie Hawn, who plays her mum. They go on holiday together and end up on an unexpected adventure. This better be hilarious. Released: 19th May

Colossal sounds utterly bizarre so I must give it a watch. Anne Hathaway plays an out of work party girl who moves back home and feels she is somehow connected to a giant creature terrorising Seoul. WTF?! Exactly. Released: 19th May

Pirates of the Caribbean: Salazar’s Revenge

I wasn’t thrilled by the news there was another Pirates movie to be honest but I’m gonna see it out of curiosity and try to keep an open mind.  Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) goes up against old nemesis Salazar (Javier Bardem) and he must find the Trident of Poseidon to get control over the seas and defeat him. Released: 26th May

I’m a big fan of Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron and this looks rude, cheesy and bloody hilarious. They clash heads when Efron joins the lifeguard team but they soon unite when they uncover a criminal plot. Released: 29th May
