Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 European premiere: My pics

On Monday night, the cast of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 came to London to premiere to movie at the Hammersmith Apollo, which is traditionally a music venue. It was an odd choice and like no premiere I’ve ever seen, for better or worse, but I took plenty of pictures of it all to show you.

First of all, usually at premieres, there is a long red carpet surrounded by fans and press outside the cinema, but it was very small here and just for photo purposes. The press took place inside in a very small area, which is why I didn’t get access – however, I got a ticket to watch the movie, which never happens!

Because the movie is known for its music, or because the venue is more of a rock music place, it basically turned into a club with loud thumping Guardians soundtrack-style music and lasers and flashing lights. It was nuts but very cool for a bit but it lasted for 15 MINUTES and I wanted the film to start.

The cast started lining up by the stage while this was going on which is why you can see Chris Pratt bopping away in the pic above. I was in a prime position to watch them all! Director James Gunn and actors Karen Gillan, Dave Bautista and Zoe Saldana seemed to really appreciate the vibe of the room and James called it the best premiere he’d been to cos people were dancing.

The whole cast – also including Michael Rooker, Kurt Russell and Pom Klementieff – came onto the stage to introduce the movie and then it finally started!
