I’m fed up with all this James Bond speculation

This week Tom Hardy was the latest actor to be named “the favourite” to play James Bond and to be honest, I just rolled my eyes. I am fed up with this speculation and the endless list of people who could be in the frame.

Tom became the new frontrunner after he said this to the Daily Beast: “You know, there’s a saying amongst us in the fraternity of acting, and in the fellowship of my peer group, that if you talk about it you’re automatically out of the race… So I can’t possibly comment on that one! If I mention it, it’s gone.”

He’s right – as soon as you put someone in the frame that immediately writes them off! So what’s the point? For example, Idris Elba would have made a perfect Bond but his chances were ruined by this speculation. The producers are never going to pick him now.

I personally don’t think Tom is the right choice for Bond. I don’t find him that attractive for one (so sue me), he’s not the classically handsome, he’s more rough and ready, he would need to get his teeth fixed and be more well-spoken. I think he’s a great actor and I like him how he is, but he’s not right for Bond.

Tom Hiddleston was rumoured but I’m pretty certain Hiddleswift put paid to that, and Damian Lewis is better at playing the baddie. My personal favourites are James Norton (not well known globally) and Aidan Turner (so hot), but now they’ve been mentioned, it’s doubtful.

And we’re talking about who will replace Daniel Craig when we don’t even know for certain he’s leaving. It’s total craziness and I really hope some form of announcement is made soon so this speculation can stop.
