Patrick Dempsey & Renee Zellweger at the Bridget Jones’s Baby premiere

012

Tonight, the stars of Bridget Jones’s Baby came down to London’s Leicester Square for the world premiere including Renee Zellweger, Colin Firth, Patrick Dempsey and Emma Thompson, who also co-wrote.

I love the movies so I couldn’t wait to see the stars from it although I had to make do with seeing them from far away because none of the four mentioned above did much or any press, certainly not remotely near me. They focussed largely on the fans and spent a lot of time signing and taking selfies. Dempsey was very charming but quite reserved, Firth was actually pretty funny and joked around with fans and Zellweger was so meticulous – she spent so much time with them, chatting, taking pictures and signing.

After an hour of being there, she had only completed half the carpet and she promised those waiting she would come back out and finish and I truly believe she did. She sincerely thanked everybody for coming and turned outwards to address everywhere during her onstage chat and I really believed she meant it.

Sadly Thompson seemed to disappear in the mayhem, like soundtrack singer Ellie Goulding, so I didn’t get to see them in the flesh this time (although I’ve seen Thompson before). It was chaotic as there were a lot of celebrity guests too such as Years & Years, who seemed really happy to be there, Pussycat Doll Kimberly Wyatt, Rebecca Ferguson, Nicole Appleton and Samantha Womack (who knew they were buddies?!), director Dexter Fletcher and Una Healy.
