The UK Star Wars premiere is going to be big

Now I’m sure you’ve all seen the overnight pictures from the insane Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens Los Angeles premiere. What a production! Well I was down in London’s Leicester Square last night and judging by the prep that’s already under way, I can tell Wednesday night’s event it’s going to be ridiculously big (by London standards).

I personally haven’t seen a premiere in London of this size since I’ve lived here and since I’m not going to the red carpet tomorrow (too much international press boo!) I thought I would take some snaps to show you how the set up is getting under way.

The top picture shows the amount of screens lining the red carpet where the stars will enter and it is long and it is high. DAMN. Not only that, but there is an identical setup on the other side of the square, so it is huge basically. I don’t see how the square can be open to any passing foot traffic.

From the second pic, you can both paths of red carpet join in the middle at a large stage, which is under construction. It is opposite a central screen, which is currently advertising the fun fair. I’m so sad I can’t cover this as press – although I’m so tempted to rock up as a fan anyway! It’s going to be a big spectacle.

Guests attending include Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega and J.J. Abrams. It is livestreamed online from around 5pm.

All my pics are below.
