The X Factor 2015 line-up: What the heck?!

The line-up for this year’s The X Factor has been announced and I am not a happy bunny. I was seriously hoping Nick Grimshaw would not end up being a judge but it has been confirmed – he is on board with Cheryl Fernandez-Versini and Rita Ora (above) and Simon Cowell is also returning.

First of all – Nick is a DJ on Radio 1. He is not a singer, a manager nor does he have any real music industry knowledge. He plays music, interviews celebs and has many celeb friends including Rita (convenient!?), Kate Moss and Harry Styles. Having him on the panel really makes it lack credibility – it makes me wonder, ‘is that the best you could do?!’ Surely there must have been some musicians up for the job, no?! Having a DJ really feels like barrel scrapping.

Second, I love Rita and she was great on The Voice – why is she jumping ship to The X Factor after a year, especially when she criticised it during Voice promo?! I just don’t understand why she would do it. I like Rita and I think she will bring that sassiness and honesty the judging panel desperately needs (as Simon has gone soft!) But her second album has been delayed so many times and she only just released the lead single for it – does she not need time to promote that?

So, I’m on the fence about this series and I’m just praying it will be good. Hopefully the other three can counter out Nick, who annoys the hell out of me. I like Simon and Cheryl, their chemistry is great, and I predict Rita will be awesome so there is hope. I was gutted host Dermot O’Leary left but I love cheeky Olly Murs and his double act with Caroline Flack. It will also be weird without Louis Walsh at first, but his judging was getting a bit repetitive!! PLEASE be good!!
