Pictures from the Cinderella Exhibition

An exhibition has been launched to celebrate the upcoming U.K. release of Cinderella and it features the costumes, sets and props from the Disney reboot. It was amazing! I enjoyed it more than the movie. While I didn’t like the new adaptation (read my review), I couldn’t deny how gorgeous it looked so it was great to see everything up close.

The main highlight is obviously the famous blue ballgown worn by Cinderella (Lily James) and Prince’s (Richard Madden) costume. The gown is huge – it is made of 22 layers of tulle and is adorned with TEN THOUSAND Swarovski crystals. It looks damn heavy and that corset would have made filming a challenge.

The Fairy Godmother’s costume is the second most extravagant design which also features ten thousand crystals. That’s how Helena Bonham Carter shone! More than a million were used in the production and that’s not including pieces of jewellery borrowed for it. No wonder it looks so magical!

The gorgeous glass slipper is incredible. It is made of solid crystals and five were made before they settled on the sixth. It is made of two pieces secured together in such a way that the light reflects of it in different colours.

I loved this Cate Blanchett outfit in the movie and it was even more impressive in person (sorry this picture doesn’t do it justice). The black swirls contain black crystals and the hat is simply huge.

I would recommend everybody near London head to the exhibition in Leicester Square. It’s free and it is so interesting. In addition to the costumes, you got to stand in Cinderella’s home, the cellar/kitchen, the garden and ballroom plus the pumpkin-filled conservatory and the transformed carriage. It’s open until 10 April but book in advance.

Cinderella is released in the U.K. on Friday. Check the thumnails below for extra pics.

Thank YOU for the meal!! But yeah, thanx for spending
some time to discuss this subject here on your blog.
