Reese Witherspoon apologises for disorderly behaviour

As you must know by now, Reese Witherspoon was arrested for disorderly conduct following her husband’s arrest for driving under the influence.

The pair were arrested in Atlanta, Georgia after their car was seen weaving between lanes. Jim Toth, her husband and the driver, failed a breathalyzer test and Reese would have got any scot-free if she hadn’t starting mouthing off to the police and refusing to take their orders.

Reese has since issued an apology, which reads: “Out of respect for the ongoing legal situation, I cannot comment on everything that is being reported right now. But I do want to say, I clearly had one drink too many and I am deeply embarrassed about the things I said. It was definitely a scary situation and I was frightened for my husband, but that is no excuse. I was disrespectful to the officer who was just doing his job. I have nothing but respect for the police and I’m very sorry for my behavior.”

I still can’t get over this! Reese just seemed like the sweetest woman ever and now she’s being rude to the police! At least, she owned up to what she did and will suffer from the repercussions for a while. I seriously doubt she will do anything like this again.

She couldn’t exactly deny it given the police report and their mug shot. The pair were taken to custody before being released in the early hours of Friday. They were due in court today but have had their dates rescheduled for May 22nd ( for Reese) and May 23rd (for Jim).

Nevertheless, Reese remained ever professional by attending the NYC premiere (see pic above) of her indie movie Mud, co-starring Matthew McConaughey. The actress posed for photographers but refused to speak to reporters.
