Rosario Dawson opens up about Danny Boyle split

It was one of the weirdest relationships in showbiz so it was no surprise when rumours emerged that Rosario Dawson and Danny Boyle had split up.

The pair ignored each other during the press tour of Trance, a movie which Danny directed and Rosario starred in. They seemed fine with each other at the London premiere though, so there was some doubt about the state of their romance. The 33-year-old confessed during a shoot with that they have indeed parted ways.

She said: “It’s not like we announced our relationship, so it’s not like we’re going to announce our breakup.”

Rosario first talked about her romance with Boyle in October 2012 to Access Hollywood, admitting that she made the first move after shooting of Trance was over.

She said, “From the outside it looks like there’s a lot of dissimilarities, but we actually have a lot in common. We’re really similar people. He’s a very kind man. It was just one of those things where we were going to just go our separate ways had someone not said something.”

Although they began dating after finishing off the movie, we only saw picture evidence when they were spotted on holiday in the Caribbean over new year. I was shocked, along with many others, as they seemed so different.

Despite the split, she still heaps praise onto Danny, revealing that they first met years ago rather than on the set of Trance like the papers reported.

She explained: “I met Danny years ago on a project neither of us ended up doing. I don’t always remember meetings, they kind of sometimes disappear. This one I really remembered. The questions he asked, how he guided it, the way he directed me was just so compelling.”

“I love Danny. He’s wonderful and we dated longer than people think we did. When the first photograph of us came out, everyone was like, “That’s when they started dating”. It’s amazing the things people suppose or make up as fact. I respect Danny’s privacy, so it’s not something we really talk about.”
