Taylor Swift talks relationships again in Vanity Fair

Taylor Swift has been doing a lot of interviews lately and she always talks about her relationships in a general way because she is fed up of the lies written about her.

In her interview with Vanity Fair, she admits that she has only dated two guys since 2010 (Harry Styles and Conor Kennedy) yet the press treat her like a serial dater because of the amount of men she is friends with. She reckons the media have turned her into a “fictional character” but she recognises her songwriting may be the cause of this.

She said: “For a female to write about her feelings, and then be portrayed as some clingy, insane, desperate girlfriend in need of making you marry her and have kids with her, I think that’s taking something that potentially should be celebrated—a woman writing about her feelings in a confessional way—that’s taking it and turning it and twisting it into something that is frankly a little sexist.”

She also addressed the rumour which reported she bought a house near her ex Conor.

She said: “I apparently buy houses near every boy I like—that’s a thing that I apparently do. If I like you I will apparently buy up the real-estate market just to freak you out so you leave me. They’ll find out it’s not true when you are actively not ever spotted at that house.”

Taylor never talks about specifics with her relationships but, according to Vanity Fair, she authorised a spokesperson to talk about her split with Harry. The unnamed source said Harry “wore her [Taylor] down” by chasing her for over a year. The main problem was his wandering eye.

Her friend said: “The whole time she says she feels like he’s looking at every girl,” and one time they were in London he “disappears one night and after that it was like he just didn’t want to keep going.”

Harry’s rep denies all the claims. I’m always dubious with a “source”, but if Vanity Fair used them, I would think they were reliable.
