Screen Actors Guild Awards 2013: The Winners

Another week, another awards show for the TV and film industry. This one is literally just celebrating the actor so no best picture, best director, screenplay etc. There aren’t many surprises really as they are mostly the same as the Golden Globes except this awards show only has one “Best Actress” category and this time around Jennifer Lawrence beat Jessica Chastain to the post- so it will be a tough one to call come the Oscars.

I’m a bit surprised that Damian Lewis didn’t take Best Actor in Drama Series for Homeland because that usually sweeps the board- on this occasion, he was beaten by Bryan Cranston for Breaking Bad.

The SAGs are the only awards that really celebrate an ensemble cast with a category for it in movie, TV drama & TV comedy- won by Argo, Downtown Abbey and Modern Family- none of which surprise me.
